MEET THE TEAM

Robert Lukaszonas is the Founder and President of LEAN Engineering. Trained in the Toyota Production System by some of the original engineers from Toyota, he has over 16 years of lean experience applying the lean methodology and tools to different types of industries all over the world including manufacturing, healthcare, distribution, service, office and non-for-profit.

He has a B.S. in Industrial Technology and an A.A.S. in Industrial Engineering Technology. In addition he is certified as a Six Sigma Black Belt, APICS, NIST-MEP LEAN, Kaizen JIT and a member of ASQ American Society for Quality.

Robert operates as a change agent, implementation specialist, coach and facilitator. A strong believer in learning by doing and people involvement, he facilitates the hands on teaching and implementation of lean. He brings years of experience in successful lean implementations.

Steve Caffrey is a Six Sigma trainer, coach and mentor. He has been a statistical practitioner for over 30 years. Most of those years were at Eastman Kodak where he worked as a statistical consultant across the diverse manufacturing businesses and geographic locations of the company. As part of his career at Kodak he became a Master Black Belt, and was in charge of the Black Belt training program. At Kodak he spent over 10 years doing Black Belt and Green Belt training.

Since leaving Kodak Steve has consulted with various companies, including Pactiv, Ethox and Corning Glass. He has also continued to teach Black Belt at Kodak, and works as a coach and mentor to a large group of Black Belt candidates at Kodak.

Steve has been an adjunct member of the Rochester Institute of Technology's Quality & Applied Statistics faculty for over 20 years. He teaches courses in the Master's program, both on campus and in a Distance Learning format.

Steve is a member and Fellow of the American Society for Quality Control.
