About Us

LEAN Engineering, RML Lean Inc. is a training and consulting firm delivering leading-edge hands-on Lean implementation strategies for small to medium size enterprises.

For over 10 years, our proven waste elimination techniques have helped companies improve their operational effectiveness and get results. Our team-based approach to implementation ensures a transfer of ownership of the improvement process to our clients enabling them to sustain the improvements gained.

Due to our low overhead and lean operating systems, we continue to have some of the lowest daily rates in our industry. We offer exceptional value to our clients at the lowest possible cost and most of our projects result in a ROI for our clients.

We also assist our clients in finding Grants to offset the costs of our services.

Where We Operate

LEAN Engineering operates locally throughout Western, Central and Southern NYS, across North America and the UK. We service organizations across a wide range of business sectors including manufacturing, distribution, office, healthcare, non-for-profit, military and many others.

Robert Lukaszonas Robert Lukaszonas is the Founder and President of LEAN Engineering, RML Lean Inc. Trained in TPS by some of the original engineers from Toyota. He has over 17 years of lean experience applying the lean methodology and tools to different types of industries all over the world. He has held positions in engineering and operations management and has a B.S. in Industrial Technology and an A.A.S. in Industrial Engineering Technology. In addition he is certified in Lean Manufacturing and a Six Sigma Black Belt.

Robert operates as a lean implementation specialist, coach and facilitator and has a passion for continuous improvement. A strong believer in learning by doing and people involvement, he facilitates the hands on teaching and implementation of lean. He brings years of experience in successful lean implementations.

Steve Caffrey Steve Caffrey is a Six Sigma trainer, coach and mentor. He has been a statistical practitioner for over 30 years. Most of those years were at Eastman Kodak where he worked as a statistical consultant across the diverse manufacturing businesses and geographic locations of the company. As part of his career at Kodak he became a Master Black Belt, and was in charge of the Black Belt training program. At Kodak he spent over 10 years doing Black Belt and Green Belt training.

Since leaving Kodak Steve has consulted with various companies, including Pactiv, Ethox and Corning Glass. He has also continued to teach Black Belt at Kodak, and works as a coach and mentor to a large group of Black Belt candidates at Kodak.

Steve has been an adjunct member of the Rochester Institute of Technology's Quality & Applied Statistics faculty for over 20 years. He teaches courses in the Master's program, both on campus and in a Distance Learning format.

Steve is a member and Fellow of the American Society for Quality Control.
